International Freight Forwarding Specialist – Team Leader

Job Title: 

Dedicated International Freight Forwarding Specialist with comprehensive experience and skills to organize international transports by road, air and sea

We are seeking an experienced, ambitious, and assertive International Freight Forwarder as team leader to establish a centralized project logistics operation in Indonesia. 

The main targets are to design, manage, and oversee transport logistics for projects across the Asia-Pacific Region. Our client is a market-leading global player headquartered in Europe. 

The role involves communicating and stay in close contact with the European headquarters, service providers and project offices in the affiliated countries of the Asia Pacific Region. Initially, operations will cover Indonesia (as the central hub) plus two additional countries. 

In addition to building the Freight Forwarding Experts team, the Group Leader worksalongside the team, using mentoring to foster a high level of professionalism capable of meeting the challenges of international transport logistics.

Your Background and Qualifications

• Confident demeanor and excellent communication and presentation skills
• Fluent business English (Candidates with only intermediate English proficiency cannot be considered)
• Minimum Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree
• Minimum Experience in International Freight Forwarding, air-/seafreight: 5 to 10 years
• Wide knowledge about freight markets, logistics locations of sea and airfreight, customs clearance requirements in the countries of the Asia Pacific Region
• Training and Experience in modern personnel management
• Holistic thinking and acting based on the principles of modern corporate management
• Ability to grasp the big picture and identify connections where others lack clarity
• Capacity to create innovative ideas for establishing the centralized transport execution and its development
• Ability to conduct logistical country surveys for the Asia-Pacific Region and create guidelines for professional freight forwarding operations as well as
• Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the team
• Skills in developing strategies for business enhancement, risk mitigation and avoidance

Duties and Responsibilities

• Centralized management of international transport processes and the phased inclusion of additional countries of the Asia-Pacific Region
• The role demands both leadership capabilities and hands-on operational involvement
• Inbound and Outbound Expediting, commissioning of nominated carriers and transport services
• Communication with headquarter, service providers and project management of job sites
• Familiar with transport documentation, export and import regulations of the logistics marketplaces of the Asia Pacific Region
• In addition to existing freight agreements, individual procurement of freight services
• Regular online progress meetings with our client, reporting and presentation of issues and solutions
• Support continuous improvement and process optimization in transport logistics
• Personnel Management and Training
