Job Description
Develop and maintain technical standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Work Instructions (WIs) for the operation and maintenance of Substation systems, including 150 kV systems, Railway Substations (RSS), rectifiers, UPS, MV switchgear, transformers, and battery systems.
Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of Substation equipment failures and develop corrective and preventive actions to minimize recurrence.
Provide technical support and engineering judgment to Regional Maintenance Teams in resolving complex equipment failures and maintenance issues.
Manage Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM), and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) programs across Substation assets to improve asset reliability and extend equipment life.
Conduct Asset Health Assessments and develop recommendations for overhaul, replacement, refurbishment, and overall asset life cycle management based on actual equipment conditions.
Coordinate technical matters with vendors and manufacturers, including work method reviews, warranty claims, technical clarifications, and engineering modifications.
Review and evaluate technical designs, protection settings, system configurations, and proposed changes through the Management of Change (MoC) process to ensure compliance with safety and reliability standards.
Develop technical specifications, Scope of Work (SoW), and procurement documents for Substation projects and maintenance activities.
Requirements
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree (S1) or Diploma 4 (D4) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. (Master’s Degree (S2), particularly in Railway Engineering or a related field, is highly preferred)
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in railway systems, particularly in Substation / High Voltage (HV) systems.
Proven experience with DC switchgear systems for railway traction.
Possession of relevant certifications in railway systems is preferred.
Strong knowledge and experience in Substation operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliability engineering.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to perform Root Cause Analysis and provide sound engineering judgment.
Strong communication and coordination skills.
Proficiency in English at CEFR C1 level (or equivalent to IELTS 7.0) or above.
