About the role
We are seeking an experienced Director of Engineering to join our management team on a contract basis. This is a strategic leadership position based in Lombok, Nusa Tenggara Barat, responsible for overseeing all engineering, maintenance, and technical operations across our resort and residential facilities. The Director of Engineering will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our property's infrastructure, maintaining high standards of service delivery, and implementing sustainable engineering practices that support our commitment to excellence in hospitality.
Key responsibilities
Lead, manage, and supervise the engineering and maintenance team to ensure optimal performance and professional development
Develop and implement preventative maintenance program across all resort and villas facilities
Oversee the maintenance of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and air conditioning systems to ensure continuous operation
Manage budgets for engineering operations, equipment purchases, and maintenance projects
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards
Coordinate with other departments to address maintenance requests and resolve technical issues promptly
Plan and supervise renovation, refurbishment, and capital improvement projects
Monitor energy consumption and implement cost-saving initiatives and sustainability practices
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment servicing, and spare parts inventory
Conduct regular inspections of all facilities and systems to identify potential problems
Liaise with external contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance and repairs
What we're looking for
Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering management, preferably within luxury resort
Proven leadership experience managing technical teams of varying sizes
Strong knowledge of hotel or resort infrastructure, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and water systems
Experience with preventative and predictive maintenance program
Proficiency in budget management and cost control
Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental compliance standards relevant to hospitality operations
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with multiple departments
Experience in project management and capital improvement initiatives
Familiarity with building management systems and maintenance software
Fluency in English; Indonesian language skills are advantageous
Relevant technical certifications or qualifications in engineering or facilities management are preferred
