Principal Offsite and Modular Engineer

This role will focus on developing scalable offsite-manufactured and prefabricated infrastructure platforms that accelerate deployment, improve quality, reduce construction risk, and support OCI's rapidly growing cloud and AI capacity demands. You will serve as a senior technical leader and subject matter expert, partnering across design engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, construction, commissioning, and operations organizations to define the future of modular data center delivery.

This is a highly visible individual contributor role with broad influence on OCI's infrastructure roadmap, deployment strategy, and next-generation data center platforms.

What You'll Do

Modular Infrastructure Strategy & Engineering

• Develop and drive OCI's modular infrastructure strategy for electrical, mechanical, controls, and utility systems.

• Establish standardized modular design approaches that improve scalability, repeatability, and deployment speed.

• Evaluate opportunities for prefabrication and offsite manufacturing across data center infrastructure systems.

• Lead technical decision-making for modular architecture, interfaces, and deployment methodologies.

Design & Integration

• Define engineering requirements and design standards for modular electrical rooms, e-houses, cooling plants, pump skids, power distribution systems, utility modules, and integrated infrastructure packages.

• Ensure seamless integration of modular systems into OCI's data center design standards and operational requirements.

• Review engineering designs, specifications, manufacturing drawings, and technical submittals.

• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, structural, controls, and network engineering teams to optimize modular solutions.

Manufacturing & Supply Chain

• Partner with manufacturers, fabricators, and strategic suppliers to develop scalable modular products and solutions.

• Evaluate manufacturing capabilities, production processes, and quality control programs.

• Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), product validation, and manufacturing readiness reviews.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers to improve quality, cost, and deployment efficiency.

Deployment & Commissioning

• Support transportation, site integration, installation, startup, and commissioning of modular infrastructure systems.

• Identify and mitigate technical risks associated with modular deployment strategies.

• Collaborate with construction and commissioning teams to improve field execution and deployment consistency.

• Capture lessons learned and implement improvements across future deployments.

Innovation & Technical Leadership

• Research emerging technologies and modular construction methodologies.

• Influence OCI's long-term infrastructure roadmap through innovative engineering solutions.

• Serve as a technical advisor for large-scale infrastructure programs and strategic initiatives.

• Mentor engineers and contribute to the development of engineering best practices across OCI.
