About the role

GreenEarth Ventures Indonesia is seeking a dedicated and experienced Agriculturist to join our dynamic team in Pekanbaru, Riau. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in advancing our horticultural operations and ensuring sustainable agricultural practices across our facilities. As an Agriculturist, you will be responsible for overseeing crop production, optimising yields, and implementing best practices in cultivation techniques. This role is integral to our mission of delivering high-quality agricultural products whilst maintaining environmental stewardship and promoting sustainable farming methods.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and oversee all aspects of crop production cycles, from soil preparation through to harvest

• Monitor plant health, identify and manage pest and disease issues using integrated pest management techniques

• Manage irrigation systems and soil fertility to optimise growing conditions and water usage

• Conduct regular crop assessments and maintain detailed records of cultivation progress, yields and resource usage

• Implement horticultural best practices and ensure compliance with environmental and agricultural standards

• Train and supervise agricultural staff on proper cultivation, harvesting and post-harvest handling procedures

• Collaborate with research and development teams to trial new crop varieties and innovative growing techniques

• Develop and maintain crop budgets, forecast yields and provide recommendations to improve productivity and sustainability

• Liaise with suppliers, equipment providers and external agricultural specialists as required

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Plant Science or a related discipline

• Minimum of 3 years' professional experience in horticultural production, crop management or a similar agricultural role

• Strong knowledge of crop cultivation techniques, soil management and integrated pest management practices

• Proficiency in using agricultural technology, monitoring equipment and farm management software

• Excellent understanding of tropical and subtropical growing conditions, preferably within Southeast Asia

• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor agricultural teams effectively

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret crop data and make informed decisions

• Excellent communication skills in Indonesian and English

• Commitment to sustainable farming practices and environmental conservation

• Physical fitness and willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
