We are looking for a SOLIDWORKS macro programmer (or API developer) TO writes custom scripts and programs to automate repetitive modelling, drafting, and data management tasks within SOLIDWORKS.
Core Job Responsibilities
Process Automation: Write VBA, C#, or VB.NET code to automate routine design actions like generating parts, adding features, or modifying dimensions with a click
Batch File Processing: Develop scripts that open, modify, update, and save hundreds of part, assembly, or drawing files in the background
Data Extraction & Integration: Extract bill of materials (BOM), custom properties, and mass properties from 3D models and push that data into Excel, databases, ERP, or PLM systems
Drawing & Template Generation: Automate the creation of manufacturing drawings, adding standard views, and applying proper dimensioning schemes based on company rules
Custom User Interfaces (UI): Build specialized forms and user prompts within SolidWorks so engineers can input specific parameters safely without altering core templates
Debugging & Maintenance: Test, troubleshoot, and update existing macro code when SOLIDWORKS updates or when design workflows change
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of related experience
Expert in Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) and Visual Studio Tools for Applications (VSTA - VB.NET / C# .dll generation)
Ability to work with Excel API, SQL databases, XML, or JSONto import and export engineering data
Excellent communication skills with a outgoing & outspoken personality
Good problem solving and decision making
Highly motivated and self-driven
English speaking and written is a must
