Marine Technical Superintendent

Task & Responsibilities

• Ensure vessels are managed and operated in full compliance with international maritime conventions, flag state and classification society requirements, PSC code, TMSA requirements, and SIRE standards, maintaining audit and inspection readiness at all times.

• Ensuring compliance with the ISM Code requirements.

• Plan, prepare, and manage dry-docking projects, including budgeting, scheduling, execution, and cost control within approved budgets.

• Prepare and submit technical reports, analyses, and recommendations to the HOD, DPA, and ADPA as required.

• Maintain and optimize vessel inventory, spare parts, and critical spare lists to ensure operational reliability and minimize vessel downtime.

• Provide technical guidance to engineering crews, ensuring familiarity with Company procedures, ISM Code requirements, and best engineering practices.

• Coordinate repairs, troubleshooting, and technical investigations for machinery and equipment failures, ensuring timely and cost-effective resolutions.

• Liaise with classification societies, flag administrations, shipyards, suppliers, and service providers on technical matters and statutory requirements.

• Support vessel audits, inspections, vetting programs, and corrective action follow-ups to maintain high operational standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Technical Superintendent in a ship management or maritime company.

• Strong knowledge of vessel maintenance, repairs, and technical troubleshooting.

• Familiar with IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM Code, PSC, TMSA, and SIRE requirements.

• Experience in dry-docking projects and budget management.

• Strong problem-solving, communication, and crisis management skills.

• Proactive, adaptable, and able to work effectively under pressure.
