Job Summary:
The Radiologic Technologist assists radiologists in performing diagnostic imaging procedures to help detect and diagnose diseases. The role involves preparing patients, operating imaging equipment, ensuring high-quality diagnostic images, maintaining radiation safety standards, processing imaging records, and supporting efficient department operations under the supervision of senior radiologic technologists.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist radiologists with X-ray, CT scan, MRI, fluoroscopy, mammography, and other imaging procedures.
- Receive and process imaging requests, verify patient information, and retrieve prior imaging studies.
- Prepare and position patients while explaining procedures to ensure their comfort and cooperation.
- Operate diagnostic imaging equipment under supervision and produce high-quality images for accurate diagnosis.
- Practice radiation safety and minimize exposure to patients and staff.
- Review image quality and repeat scans when necessary.
- Process, archive, and distribute digital images, films, and CD/DVD copies.
- Record and maintain accurate patient, procedure, and equipment usage records.
- Coordinate with physicians, nurses, clerical staff, and fellow technologists.
- Monitor equipment condition and promptly report any malfunctions.
- Rotate across imaging sections (X-ray, Mammography, CT, and MRI) based on department schedules.
- Participate in continuing education to stay updated on advances in radiologic technology.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology.
- Registered Radiologic Technologist (RRT) with a valid professional license.
- At least 1–2 years of relevant clinical experience in diagnostic imaging.
- Knowledgeable in X-ray, Mammography, CT Scan, Ultrasound, and MRI procedures.
- Flexible, adaptable, and willing to learn new imaging techniques and procedures.
- Strong patient care skills with a customer service-oriented approach.
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, especially in high-pressure or emergency situations.
