We have total 16 MTPA of coal requirement. Hindalco is building coal portfolio of 17-18 MTPA through own mines. Bandha Coal Mine is a Green Field Project with an annual production plan of 5 MTPA with complete open cast mining. The Mine was allotted to EMMRL in auction process and allocation order received from MOC on 3 rd Mar 2021. The control of EMMRL was taken over by Hindalco Industries Limited from 1 st Dec 2025 through share purchase agreement between EMIL & Hindalco. All statutory clearances required for mining including FC-I, FC-II, EC, and mine opening permission have already been obtained. The mineable reserve is 207 million tons & extractable reserve of 197 million tons. Major Challenges :- - Availability of skill manpower:-Availability of skilled manpower for drilling & Blasting to achieving targeted production. - Control of absenteeism: - Absenteeism and migration of workforce from day to day work due to difficult and adverse working condition mining. - System availability and integration: - Ensuring integration and availability of all the resources (equipment and latest technology) for drilling & blasting of coal from different working faces over a network of 4 km from different seams of the Mine. - Cost control: - AsMine has been procured at a high price, production at optimum cost with the most efficient use of available resource. - Motivation of work force:- To motivate workforce under adverse industrial and Economic scenario.
