About Surfline

Millions of people around the world depend on Surfline’s products to enrich their experiences in and around the ocean. Since 1985, our company has connected people with the ocean. Starting with surfers and expanding to offshore cruisers, anglers and a myriad of other ocean enthusiasts, we’ve made it our mission to deliver peak maritime experiences. We provide those who work and play in the ocean with all the advanced tools, personalized insights and immersive content to make their lives better -- supplying them with the information they need to make smarter decisions, seek out new experiences and gain valuable knowledge.

We are dedicated to bringing people together across the globe, and we champion and encourage those who bring different perspectives, ideas, and creativity. At Surfline, we recruit, employ, train, compensate, and promote regardless of race, religion, color, national origin, sex, disability, gender identity, gender expression, age, veteran status, and any other protected status.

Surfline operates one of the world’s largest coastal camera networks, delivering real-time surf intelligence to millions of users every day. As Camera Acquisition Research Lead for APAC, you will help expand our camera network by identifying high-quality host opportunities, validating decision-makers, and preparing well-researched leads for fast, effective outreach.

You’ll own top-of-funnel research across Australia and the broader APAC region, building prioritized lead lists for hotels, commercial businesses, private property owners, and other potential camera hosts. Your work will directly support Surfline’s ability to grow coverage in key surf markets and bring more live camera views to our users.

Under Surfline’s “Work from Anywhere” policy, this position may be performed on a full-time remote basis from Australia with Western Australia preferred.

What You’ll Do

  • Research and identify potential camera host locations, including hotels, commercial businesses, clubs, venues, and private properties.
  • Map ownership, identify decision-makers, and verify accurate contact information.
  • Support inbound host interest by triaging leads and routing qualified opportunities.
  • Prioritize prospects based on location quality, surf-view potential, host fit, access considerations, and likelihood to convert.
  • Maintain clean, accurate, and well-structured CRM records in Attio.
  • Prepare ready-to-contact leads with relevant context, personalization notes, and suggested next steps.
  • Add useful local context, such as surf relevance, nearby landmarks, venue type, council considerations, or vantage-point notes.
  • Support outreach preparation by loading qualified prospects into the appropriate workflows and stages.
  • Partner with the acquisition team to align research with weekly priorities, regional campaigns, and target surf zones.
  • Help improve research sources, workflows, and lead quality over time.
  • When appropriate, support early host conversations and help move qualified opportunities toward signed agreements.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong research skills and the ability to quickly identify the right decision-makers across small organizations, commercial businesses, and private venues.
  • Excellent attention to detail, CRM discipline, and comfort managing high-volume lead data.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently across daily and weekly priorities.
  • Fast learner with strong pattern recognition, deduplication, and data-structuring skills.
  • Ability to write concise, useful personalization notes and lead context.
  • Goal-driven, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment.
  • Resilient, positive, and open to feedback.
  • Clear communicator who is comfortable working asynchronously across time zones.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Attio, Clay, LinkedIn, Hunter, Google Maps, SmartLeads or similar research platforms.
  • A builder mindset, with a desire to improve sources, workflows, and lead quality.
  • Reliable, consistent, and motivated by helping build a high-velocity acquisition engine.

You May Also Have

  • Familiarity with streaming, CCTV, fire alarm systems, or basic site-installation considerations.
  • Passion for surfing, coastal communities, ocean-going activities, or live-camera technology.
  • Experience working across Australia, New Zealand, Southeast Asia, or broader APAC markets.
