JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of a Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology.
- Must be a Licensed Medical Technologist.
- With 3–5 years of experience as a Registered Medical Technologist.
- Has knowledge and experience in Drug Testing Laboratory and Clinical Laboratory procedures.
- Holding any of the following roles/certifications is a plus:
- Biosafety and Biosecurity Officer
- Drug Test Analyst
- HIV Counselor
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Collects, processes, and handles blood, urine and tissue samples and/or other biological specimens for analysis according to established procedures; instructs patients in the proper collection of samples.
• Performs a variety of clinical laboratory tests in the areas of hematology, microbiology, immunology, clinical chemistry, and urinalysis, as assigned; conducts quantitative and qualitative chemical analyses of body fluids such as blood, urine, and spinal fluid; performs blood counts using microscope.
• Verifies all laboratory results and ensures that they match correctly with the specimen.
• Performs calibration and troubleshooting on testing systems and instruments to ensure adherence to established standards of accuracy.
• Prepares detailed laboratory results and its findings and ensures the validity and accuracy of the released results.
• Collaborate with pathologists and other medical specialists to determine the correct diagnosis.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by adhering to safety procedures and regulation, safety practices, environmental and/or infection control methods.
• Identify, diagnose and repair issues that may arise with the laboratory equipment
• Assist the Head Med Tech in some revisions in Drug Testing documents (SOP, Policy, etc.)
• Represent as Drug Test Analyst and Biosafety Officer.
• Other tasks that management may assign from time to time relevant to job position.
